From Troas we put out to sea and sailed straight for Samothrace, and the next day on to Neapolis. From there we traveled to Philippi, a Roman colony and the leading city of that district of Macedonia. And we stayed there several days. On the Sabbath we went outside the city gate to the river, where we expected to find a place of prayer. We sat down and began to speak to the women who had gathered there. One of those listening was a woman named Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth from the city of Thyatira, who was a worshiper of God. The Lord opened her heart to respond to Paul’s message. When she and the members of her household were baptized, she invited us to her home. “If you consider me a believer in the Lord,” she said, “come and stay at my house.” And she persuaded us. Once when we were going to the place of prayer, we were met by a slave girl who had a spirit by which she predicted the future. She earned a great deal of money for her owners by fortune-telling. This girl followed Paul and the rest of us, shouting, “These men are servants of the Most High God, who are telling you the way to be saved.” 18 이같이 여러 날을 하는지라 바울이 심히 괴로워하여 돌이켜 그 귀신에게 이르되 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 내가 네게 명하노니 그에게서 나오라 하니 귀신이 즉시 나오니라 She kept this up for many days. Finally Paul became so troubled that he turned around and said to the spirit, “In the name of Jesus Christ I command you to come out of her!” At that moment the spirit left her.

The first one married and died, and since he had no children, he left his wife to his brother. The same thing happened to the second and third brother, right on down to the seventh. Now then, at the resurrection, whose wife will she be of the seven, since all of them were married to her?” 29 예수께서 대답하여 이르시되 너희가 성경도, 하나님의 능력도 알지 못하는 고로 오해하였도다 Jesus replied, “You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God. 30 부활 때에는 장가도 아니 가고 시집도 아니 가고 하늘에 있는 천사들과 같으니라 At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven. But about the resurrection of the dead-have you not read what God said to you, 32 나는 아브라함의 하나님이요 이삭의 하나님이요 야곱의 하나님이로라 하신 것을 읽어 보지 못하였느냐 하나님은 죽은 자의 하나님이 아니요 살아 있는 자의 하나님이시니라 하시니 ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? They say, ‘Our bones are dried up and our hope is gone; we are cut off.’ 12 그러므로 너는 대언하여 그들에게 이르기를 주 여호와께서 이같이 말씀하시기를 내 백성들아 내가 너희 무덤을 열고 너희로 거기에서 나오게 하고 이스라엘 땅으로 들어가게 하리라 Therefore prophesy and say to them: ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: O my people, I am going to open your graves and bring you up from them; I will bring you back to the land of Israel. Then you, my people, will know that I am the LORD, when I open your graves and bring you up from them.
